The rubber tip is a feature I never thought about, but it does not slide to the ground when you try to prop it up in a corner because of this little grip. The rubber grip on the handle also makes it easy to hang on to even when it is wet and especially in a high wind. I am still divided about a stick versus a crook handle, however, because it is handy to be able to carry a closed umbrella over one’s wrist when it is not in use. This kind requires a free hand.
